LIBERACE FILM TO BROADCAST in 2012!

LIBERACE BIO PIC SCHEDULED FOR NEXT SUMMER

First announced in 2008, the biopic of Liberace finally found its home last week at HBO, with the cable network announcing that it will air the Steven Soderbergh-directed film after it starts production next summer. Titled "Behind The Candelabra," the film gets its name from the memoir of Scott Thorson, Liberace's younger lover. Michael Douglas, whose bout with cancer pushed back the film's initial production date, will play Liberace, while Matt Damon will tackle the role of Thorson.

SPACE AGE BACHELOR PAD MUSIC!

http://spaceagebachelorpad.blogspot.com/

Bobby Hebb's immortal classic, "Sunny", has touched on a number of important genres. As Kal Rudman wrote in the liner notes, it hit the trifecta with Pop, R & B and Country charting the song.

But "Sunny" has also become a Jazz standard, as well as a funk song; it is a song that can cross ALL genres. And someday we may release an album of different renditions of "Sunny" that touches those unique and very distinctive styles of music.

SPACE AGE BACHELOR PAD and NORTHERN SOUL are two very hip trends which have Bobby Hebb as a hero of the genre. We will explore this in a future essay in more detail.

Bobby Hebb/Yardbirds Tour November 1966 49 years ago - 14th Day, 16th Show KIEL AUDITORIUM

Bobby Hebb on tour with Jimmy Page, and four gigs with Page and Jeff Beck  - the Dick Clark Caravan of Stars _________________________________________ FROM A LED ZEPPELIN FORUM http://forums.ledzeppelin.com/index.php?/topic/501-the-1967-dick-clark-caravan-of-stars-tour/ I have an original program from that tour too; it cost me a lot more than 99 cents! The Caravan of Stars Tour was actually late 1966. Jeff Beck flaked out and left the tour after the fourth gig (Oct 30, 1966 in Corpus Christie, TX). The Yardbirds went on to cancel three appearances on this tour, two for illness (Nov 24-25) and the date in Little Rock (Nov 4) for an undetermined reason.
