Thank you, Ed Bowen. Bobby Hebb always made a point to send personal "thank yous" out to all d.j.'s playing "Sunny" and other songs in his catalog. Sunny song of the day, January 28, 2012 JENNIFER LOVE HEWITT plays NANCY SINATRA in a TV movie Here she's singing "Sunny" for the troops in Viet Nam http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MgkASrzt7v8 Nancy Sinatra's dad, Frank Sinatra, recorded "Sunny" with Duke Ellington. I phoned Bobby to invite him to see Nancy Sinatra at the House of Blues one night. He said "I'm playing! in Rockport." I responded "Why didn't you tell me you had a gig, you know I'll videotape it"... Bobby said that it was just a piano performance at the Rockport Inn. I drove up to Rockport, videotaped it and wrote a story for the Gloucester Times. That video has an amazing audio as Bobby tells his story to a packed Rockport Inn, his story set to music, Bobby performing "Sunny" on the piano, a version going in to the boxed set. A rare version of Bobby Hebb performing his signature song on piano!

Bobby Hebb toured with Jimmy Page and The Yardbirds in 1966. Today, January 20, 2012, we lost Etta James. Johnny Bragg sings lead on Rollin' Stone, the groups first recording after parting from Sun - although they were still in the shovel - other members are Edward Lee Thurmon, John Edward Drue, Henry Jones, Hal Hebb, Willie Wilson and Alfred Brooks. Moogy Klingman, co-author of the Bette Midler hit "Friends", passed away on Tuesday, November 15. From the editor: On Tuesday we lost my friend Moogy Klingman who co-wrote "Friends" - the Bette Midler hit with Buzzy Linhart, The connection to Bobby is that Moogy's co-songwriter also wrote with Sandy Baron, Bobby's co-writer on "A Natural Man" and "His Song Shall Be Sung". This site should have a statement from Mr. Linhart regarding Moogy, Sandy Baron and Buzzy's one conversation with Bobby Hebb when we had a conference call a few years back.
