The original Sunny was sung by Bobby Hebb. The Sunny track is now one of the most recorded songs of all times. It ranks in the top 20 songs of the century. Here's a House track version sung by Sharon L. West and the beginning of a series of Jazz House and originals released by her late 2012

Born and raised as a child in Harlem, NY, Sharon L. West is an 8 octave singer being pegged to become a recording wonder that will soon be on her way to staying around for a long time as a
progressive artist, musician, producer and vocalist. She has been known in the Tri-state area as a singer who uses vocal arrangements as rhythm instruments drawing vibrations from the floor and walls as historic great singers like Sarah Vaughan and Ella Fitzgerald did in cathedral type auditorium with dome shaped ceilings that were made to catch and deliver the sounds of compelling and emotionally charged musicianship. As a matter of fact, many world re-known jazz musicians and fans world-wide have compared her voice when she digs deep into a soul mode to sing jazz compositions to that of the old saxophones that backed legendary singers.

Sharon was born to pure Cherokee and West-Indian American parents from a land once frequently visited by cruise ships from around the world that housed various top recording studios; one of which Mick Jagger owned and operated for his band for many years. Her entire family is from Montserrat, which is best known for being a 15-minute getaway oasis from the more commonly known Antigua. Montserrat was nearly totally destroyed by a 400-year old dormant volcano that erupted in 2005. Only the Northern area known as the "safe zone" housing less than 1000 people exists.

“My mother’s parents migrated and lived their lives out in America, but my father’s parents, well, their graves now lay under twenty feet or more of volcanic ash.”

Her favorite genre to sing is R&B and she would love to be part of creating a new flavor of opera. Ms. West is currently taking a Master songwriting class at a New York college where she has been an Honor Roll student for the past two years. She is re-learning classic guitar, trying her hands at the bass again which she played as a child and is very interested in learning both the kora and cello in her lifetime.

“They are commending instruments and the sounds of them both touch me throughout my nervous system. Just beautiful.”

Ms. West spends time daily creating beats and writing songs using her voice, piano and or DAW programs. She is strong in Logic Studio and on her way of mastering Pro-tools in part with the help of Mr. Russell Booker who this Deep-house track was produced along with Sharon; Russell was the maestro on this memorable remix and also plays all the instruments and arranged the Sunny R&B version on her Soft Moments cd that has classic jazz tunes and several originals written and produced by Sharon.

This duo’s first album together named “Late Night Laughter”, is being released on an independent label, Dreams On Tour Records, fall 2011. It will have various original and remix hit record renditions; maybe a surprise new artist or Russell on vocals. The first cd by Sharon L. West is called, “Soft Moments” and will be available here on cdbaby in just a few more weeks. It will be a collector’s item for there is a limited marked supply available in hard copy and for download.

Russell Booker’s credits also include being a graphic artist as well as a musician and producer who has worked with many R&B and club artists. In the 80's he worked with many top recording artists including Shannon while also briefly running his own label. The two are a great mix as Sharon worked as an A&R Director as a young adult right on the cusp of his own career. New and old fans can expect original tracks from these two whether in collaboration or separately, flavored with a blend of Rock and Roll, Jazz, R&B, Caribbean, Latin Tinge, Pop, Funk, today's and yesterday's classic Rhythm and Blues and Deep House Soul.

Ms. West and Mr. Booker have been reunited after a short hiatus from when he was a musician in her band several years ago before the parting of the band due in part to death of one of the members and an operation on one of the drummer’s hip. Yet these two knew it would be just a matter of time before they would come up with a special collection of songs to produce separately and together. Russell: “This is a musical union that is going to last; it already has.” Sharon: “This is a renewed collaboration long overdue.”
