Among the musicians who recorded with Wes are enormous figures as Oliver Nelson Orchestra and organismic Jimmy Smith , in " Milestones " Kelly Wilton piano , Paul Chambers on bass and Jimmy Cobb on drums "Impressions " of John Coltrane , bossa approaches to Antonio Carlos Jobim and de Moraes Vinicious in " Favela " and even incursions in the repertoire of pop and soul, as "A Day in the Life" Lennon- McCartney or the great "Sunny" Bobby Hebb , for his 1966 album California Dreamin'
