Cher's News Site has "SUNNY" as her #5 Biggest Selling Song of the 1960s
Found on a Cher News site!
5. "Sunny"
Released in 1967, sold 160,813 copies
A song that has charted for several different artists is this classic Bobby Hebb tune. Cher's version was included on her third album ("Chér") and was released outside America, becoming a top 5 hit in Norway, Sweden and the Netherlands. However, it's the song's moderate success in the UK (number 32) that made up the majority of its total sale.

AL STOFFEL'S LINER NOTES
From behind the microphone, she takes you gently, completely into her world – the voice is the vehicle; the style is the roadway. She begins with “You Better Sit Down Kids,” a lump-throated tragedy of the domestic variety providing a stark glimpse of reality on an unusual topic for song. A soft-blues guitar transports “Sunny” into a moving mood-piece; Chér changes musical keys with ease and builds, with strong instrumental accompaniment, to an electric blues crescendo. She dissolves to whispered heartbreak in “Alfie,” as soft flutes introduce off-tempo accompaniment. Dylan’s “All I Really Want To Do” winds up side one.
